MACAO, Dec. 2 (Xinhua) -- A nine-day cross-strait
book exhibition was launched here on Saturday, displaying some 200,000 books
provided by publishing houses from the Chinese mainland and China's Taiwan, Hong
Kong and Macao regions.
The host Macao Publishers' Association said in a
press release that the books on show cover a wide range of content including
literature, history, philosophy, art, politics, leisure, facility, sports and
religion.
The exhibition set up a special section for books on
the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
A dozen of writers from the Chinese mainland, Taiwan,
Hong Kong and Macao scratched signatures for the readers at the conclusion of
the opening ceremony.
The book show has been an annual traditional cultural
event for some 20 years.
