BAGHDAD, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- A U.S. Marine helicopter carrying 16 people made an emergency landing on Sunday into water in Iraq's Anbar province, killing one Marine and leaving three others missing, the U.S. military said on Monday.
Following is a list of some of the accidents involving U.S. helicopters in Iraq since 2005.
Aug. 8, 2006 -- A U.S. Marine helicopter carrying six crew members crashed in Anbar, west of Baghdad. Two crew were missing.
May 14 -- A U.S. helicopter was shot down during clashes near Yusifiya. Two soldiers were killed.
April 1 -- An AH-64D Apache Longbow helicopter crashed due to possible hostile fire west of Yusifiya, 15 km south of Baghdad. The two pilots were killed.
Jan. 16 -- Both crew members were killed when their Apache attack helicopter was shot down by a missile near Taji, north of Baghdad.
Jan. 8 -- A UH-60 Black Hawk crashed near Mosul, killing all 12on aboard which included eight service personnel and four civilians.
Nov. 2, 2005 -- A Super Cobra helicopter crashed, killing the two Marine crewmen.
Jan. 26 -- A U.S. CH53E transport helicopter crashed near the Jordanian border in western Iraq's Anbar province, killing 30 Marines and one sailor.
