DOHA, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- All the tennis and soft tennis matchesat the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex have been cancelled on Thursday due to heavy rain at the Doha Asian Games.

    The scheduled matches included the final of the men's and women's tennis team events, tennis mixed doubles first round and soft tennis men's and women's doubles.

    The adverse weather conditions also forced the event organisers to change the format of the soft tennis doubles competition from round-robin preliminaries (followed by a knock-out draw starting at the quarterfinal stage) to a knock-out draw system without round-robin preliminaries.

    The draw will consist of 16 men's doubles pairings and a draw of 16 with five byes to accommodate the 11 pairs taking part in the women's doubles draw.
