GAZA, Jan. 4 (Xinhua) -- Palestinian President
Mahmoud Abbas is likely to meet Prime Minister Ismail Haneya of Hamas in Gaza
city tonight following the killing of almost a dozen Palestinians in two days of
factional fighting.
Meanwhile, Hamas militants have killed a senior security official loyal to Abbas in northern Gaza Strip
Thursday evening, security sources confirmed.
The sources also confirmed that the wife of Brigadier
General Mohammed Ghraieb was seriously wounded in the raid, carried out by Hamas
militants, at Ghraieb's house near Jabaliya refugee camp.
So far, there is no confirmation about reports that
Ghraieb's two daughters and his two bodyguards were killed.
But Hamas has admitted that two Fatah members were
killed in the raid and a Hamas militant was also killed.
According to witnesses, members of Hamas' military
wing and Auxiliary Forces controlled by Interior Minister Said Siam stormed
Ghraieb's house, opened fire and arrested a number of people.
