CAIRO, Feb. 3 (Xinhua) -- Amr Moussa, Secretary General of the Cairo-based Arab League, on Saturday described the current infighting in the Gaza Strip as a "national tragedy" that would cause maximum damage to the Palestinian cause.
Egypt's official news agency MENA quoted Moussa as saying that the continued violence among Palestinians would be "like a suicide attack."
"Those involved in violence have either forgotten the Palestinian cause or they are implementing the plans of the enemies of the Palestinians," Moussa said.
Rival Palestinian mainstream movements of Fatah and Hamas have been engaged in days of deadly conflicts.
Since Thursday afternoon, at least 25 Palestinians have been killed and around 250 others wounded in the infighting in the Gaza Strip, according to official statistics released by the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
The figure brought the total death toll in last ten days of factional violence to 60, said the ministry.
