WASHINGTON, Feb. 4 (Xinhua) -- Indianapolis Colts clinched the Vince Lombardi Trophy by trouncing Chicago Bears 29-17 in the National Football League (NFL) Super Bowl XLI in Miami on Sunday.

The Super bowl, usually the most-watched US television broadcast of the year, is the NFL championship game in the United States, featuring the champions of the American Football Conference (AFC) and National Football Conference (NFC), which are determined each season by the league's playoff tournament.

In the drizzle, the Bears, champion of NFC, opened a flying start by finishing at 14-6 in the first quarter but they gave up the lead without answer to the AFC winner Colts in the following quarter at 14-16.

The third quarter saw the Colts scored two field goals while the Bears snatched one, ending the quarter at 22-17 in favor of the Colts.

The Colts continued to dominated the game and extended the lead 29-17 by Kevin Hayden's 56-yard interception return just three minutes into the final quarter. The fighting Bears tried hard to change the score but ended in vain.
