BEIJING, Feb. 7 (Xinhua) -- The chief negotiator of the Republic of Korea (ROK) to the six-party talks on Wednesday urged the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) to show its determination to denuclearize by carrying out concrete actions.

"The DPRK should not make unreasonable demands," said ROK chief negotiator Chun Yung Woo upon his arrival to Beijing to attend the six-party talks.

He said the other five parties should take measures to push forward the talks and he pledged the ROK would make great efforts to ensure the talks progress.

He said all relevant parties had conducted lots of consultations after the previous phase of talks and, based on these consultations, he hoped all sides would reach an agreement on the preliminary points in order to implement the Sept. 19 agreement.

"I hope the upcoming talks will be a chance for the DPRK to realize its commitment to denuclearization," he said.

The third phase of the fifth round of the six-party talks will start on Thursday afternoon. The previous phase of the talks ended last December without progress.

The six-party talks, focusing on the Korean nuclear issue, involves China, the DPRK, the United States, the Republic of Korea(ROK), Russia and Japan.
