LONDON, Feb. 7 (Xinhua) -- Police on Wednesday confirmed that a letter bomb exploded last Saturday, bringing the total number of attacks in Britain to four in five days, Sky News Television reported.
The letter bomb was sent to the private address of a 53-year-old man in Folkstone, 110 kilometers southeast of London. He was slightly injured in the blast.
It was the first parcel bomb to injure office workers in five days at sites connected with cars and traffic regulations.
On Wednesday, a parcel bomb exploded and injured a woman at Britain's driver and vehicle licensing agency in Swansea, said South Wales police.
On Tuesday, two men suffered blast wounds on their hands and upper bodies in a package explosion at the offices of an accountancy firm linked to Speed Check Services in Wokingham, Berkshire, south England.
On Monday, a female worker was hurt by a device at the Offices of Capita, which runs London's congestion charge system.
The spate of attacks appears to have confirmed fears that an enraged motorist is mounting a daily parcel bomb campaign, local media said.
Home Secretary John Reid said the explosions were "worrying", but warned against unwarranted speculation.
"It is important that we allow police to get on with their investigation without undue speculation," he told reporters.
