BEIJING,
Feb. 7 (Xinhua) -- The defending champion Guangdong Hongyuan recovered from a
lackluster first quarter to beat Liaoning Hunters 98-91 on Wednesday in the
30th-round, the final round of the 2006-07 regular season of the Chinese
Basketball Association league (CBA).
Guangdong is set to meet Shanghai Sharks, who lost to
Beijing Ducks 120-114, in the first round of the playoff.
Fujian SBS will overpass Shanghai, each collecting 47
points, as it has one more match against Jiangsu Dragons on Thursday, though it
lost to Shandong Flaming Bulls 117-101 on Wednesday.
Bayi Fubang also won its last regular-season match by
beating Xinjiang Guanghui 106-100 though the results affect no placings on the
standings.
Jilin Northeast Tigers stole the No. 11 from Dongguan
New Century after a 117-107 win over the bottom side Yunnan Honghe.
Tying with the identical 41 points, Jilin has the
advantage of point differences as Dongguan lost to Jiangsu 134-127.
Shanxi Zhongyu concluded its first CBA season at new city of Taiyuan, defeating Zhejiang Guangsha 123-104 at home.
