BERLIN, Feb. 9 (Xinhua) -- Hanover 96 twice came back from a goal behind to
draw 2-2 with VfL Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga on Friday.
Wolfsburg took an early lead in the third minute when Spanish striker Diego
Klimowicz sidefooted home after goalkeeper Robert Enke had blocked Marcelinho's
low drive.
Hanover, who had scored nine goals in their last two league matches, equalized after 22 minutes when Hanno Balitsch slammed a loose ball through Klimowicz's legs into the net from close range.
Brazilian Marcelinho was again involved when Wolfsburg retook the lead
three minutes later, squaring the ball into Jacek Krzynowek's path for the
Polish midfielder to drive a left-foot shot high into the goal from the edge of
the box.
Defender Frank Fahrenhorst made it 2-2 in the 62nd minute, bundling the
ball home with his thigh.
Hanover remain eighth in the table ahead of the weekend's other matches,
while Wolfsburg move up one place to 10th.
In Saturday's games, Schalke 04 will aim to defend their three-point lead
when they host Hertha Berlin.
Second-placed Werder Bremen face a difficult match at third-placed VfB
Stuttgart.
Defending champions Bayern Munich, who are languishing in fourth place,
11 points behind Schalke, face Arminia Bielefeld on Sunday with coach
Ottmar Hitzfeld in his second match in charge since replacing Felix Magath.
