CAIRO, March 7 (Xinhua) -- Arab League (AL) Secretary-General Amr Moussa condemned on Wednesday the latest "terrorist blasts" which killed and injured scores of innocent civilians in Iraq.
In a statement, Moussa called for unity of all Iraqis to face attempts targeting the unity of their country and its territorial integrity and said that a political solution along with a security one is needed in the war-torn country.
On Wednesday, at least 25 people were killed and 20 others injured in a suicide bombing in a cafe northeast of Baghdad, while a suicide car bomber struck a police patrol in southern Baghdad and killed eight and wounded 25.
As sectarian violence has mounted in recent months in Iraq, an international conference scheduled for Saturday in Baghdad is expected to bring together all of Iraq's neighbors, including Iran and Syria, as well as the United States and Britain to discuss means to curb the conflict in Iraq.
