GAZA, April 7 (Xinhua) -- The Palestinian unity government will convene on Saturday in a special meeting to address the security situation in the Palestinian Territories.

The meeting is to discuss a security plan drawn up by Interior Minister Hani al-Qawassmi, which the minister said is meant to put an end to the security chaos, especially in the Gaza Strip, in 100 days, according to government spokesman Ghazi Hamad.

"The security plan needs support from the government and the presidency and also needs the factions to cooperate with the Interior Ministry to secure its success," said Hamad.

The plan includes instant procedures and long-term ones, Hamad said, adding the plan targets the Palestinian internal situation and has nothing to do with the issue of resistance against Israel. A year of power struggle between Hamas Islamists and Fatah movement has killed more than 140 Palestinians, mostly in Gaza Strip.

In February, the two sides reached a deal in Mecca and

accordingly formed in March a coalition government that comprised both groups for the first time.
