SINGAPORE, May 2 (Xinhua) -- Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will visit the United States from May 2-8.
In the first part of his visit to Washington DC, Lee will meet U.S. President George W. Bush and Vice-President Dick Cheney, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.
He is also expected to meet Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez and Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson.
The prime minister will deliver a keynote address at the Asia Society-U.S. ASEAN (the Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Business Council Gala Dinner to commemorate the 40th anniversary of ASEAN's founding and 30 years of ASEAN-U.S. relations.
During his second leg in San Francisco, Lee will meet private sector leaders in industries like energy and electronics.
He will be accompanied by Foreign Minister George Yeo and Minister of State for Trade and Industry Lee Yi Shyan.
Lee last visited the United States in 2005.
