KABUL, May 3 (Xinhua) -- A roadside blast attacking an Afghan army bus killed one person and injured 14 others in Afghan capital Kabul on Thursday morning, the police said.
The explosion, which occurred at around 7 a.m. (0230 GMT) in northern Kabul, struck a bus taking Afghan soldiers to their job.
"The blast killed the driver and injured 14 others including seven soldiers," Kabul deputy police chief Alishah Paktiawal toldXinhua.
It was a remote-controlled bomb placed in a cart by the road, he added.
The badly damaged bus rushed into a roadside wall, a Xinhua journalist saw. Shattered glass was scattering on the road, and several civilian vehicles were also damaged.
No one has claimed responsibility, but Taliban militants have frequently carried out similar attacks.
Over the past two months, Kabul has suffered from bombing attacks from time to time.
A suicide car bombing killed six persons including a policeman in western Kabul on April 6.
Another suicide bombing attacked a U.S. embassy convoy on March19, wounding five embassy security personnel.
Due to rising Taliban-linked insurgency, over 1,100 persons, mostly Taliban rebels, have been killed in Afghanistan this year.
