JERUSALEM, May 6 (Xinhua) -- Four Qassam rockets landed in open areas in
southern Israel on Sunday morning, causing no injuries, said Israeli daily
Yedioth Ahronoth's website.
The report said that two of the rockets landed near southern Israeli town
of Sderot and two other fell close to the border near the southern part of the
Gaza Strip.
According to a spokesman for Israeli Defense Forces, a total often Qassams
were fired at Israel during the weekend. Seven rockets were fired from Gaza on
Saturday, with one landed in Sderot and damaged a house, but no injuries were
caused. On Friday, three rockets were launched and landed in open fields.
The political leader of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas)
Khaled Mashaal said this weekend that the organization would not agree to halt
rocket fire on Israel in exchange for an easing of travel restrictions on the
Palestinians.
