PARIS, Aug. 9 (Xinhua) -- At least 14 people were
killed when their passenger plane crashed into a lagoon after take-off in French
Polynesia on Thursday, according to reports reaching here.
The crash happened at about 12:15 p.m. (2215 GMT) at
Moorea Island when the Air Moorea Dornier plane, carrying 19 passengers and one
pilot, overshot its runway and plunged into a lagoon, French police said.
A total of 14 bodies, including that of the pilot,
have been recovered, but rescue teams said the chances that they would find any
survivors were slim.
