Li called for an expansion of the mutually beneficial
cooperation in energy, mining, telecommunication and agriculture.
China and Mauritania are both developing nations and
share common interests in safeguarding national independence, achieving common
prosperity and improving living standards for the people, Li said.
Li, who arrived here Tuesday morning, earlier met
with Mauritanian Prime Minister Zein Ould Zeidane and the president of the
Mauritania National Union for Democracy and Development, YahyaOuld Ahmed El
Waghef. The two sides agreed to boost party-to-party exchanges and promote
economic and trade cooperation.
Abdallahi said the consensus on boosting cooperation
reached during Li's visit meant good news for the Mauritanian people as joint
projects with China in health, agriculture, infrastructure and other areas have
already yielded tangible results.
He reaffirmed that Mauritania would adhere to the one-China policy.
