U.S. court acquits police involved in wedding-day shooting

    NEW YORK, April 25 (Xinhua) -- After weeks of hearing testimony, Justice Arthur Cooperman on Friday acquitted three New York police officers of all charges in the killing of an unarmed black man on his wedding day in November 2006.

    "The court has found that the incident lasted just seconds. The officers responded to perceived criminal conduct; the unfortunate consequences of their conduct were tragic," Justice Arthur Cooperman said in the verdict. Full story
