BEIJING, May 1 -- An Israeli aircraft has
hit a metal workshop in southern Gaza, one person is dead and three others are
wounded.
The workshop is in Rafah, a town next to the Egyptian
border. A witness says three Israeli helicopters hovered over the target area
and were fired at by Palestinians before the strike. But the Israeli military
says no aircraft were hit.
Israel's military has confirmed the strike and says
the target was a weapons manufacturing facility. Metal workshops are allegedly
often used by militants to make rockets.
