MOSCOW, May 3 (Xinhua) -- One passenger was killed and 12 others were injured when a bus carrying 30 Chinese citizens overturned on the Trans-Baikal Territory on Saturday, the Chinese consulate in Irkusk confirmed.

    Hu Changqing, 46, from Jilin province, was confirmed killed in the crash, according to the consulate. Three of the injured were in serious condition.

    A spokesman of the Siberian regional emergency situations center said earlier that one of the hospitalized Chinese citizens was in intensive care, and six others were in serious condition.

    The accident occurred at 4:05 a.m. Moscow time (0005 GMT) at the 403rd km of Route A-166 in Borzinsky district, Interfax news agency reported.

    Preliminary investigations showed the accident was caused by speeding.
