Top DPRK legislator wishes Beijing Olympic Games every success

    PYONGYANG, May 5 (Xinhua) -- A top legislator of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Monday wished the Beijing Olympic Games every success.

    Kim Yong Nam, president of the presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, said while meeting with Chinese ambassador Liu Xiaoming that he hopes the Beijing Olympic Games will contribute to world peace. He also expressed hope that the Games will help enhance friendship between the people of China and the DPRK.

    The Beijing Olympics will be the most magnificent in the Games' history, he added.

    Ambassador Liu conveyed a message of thanks from Chinese President Hu Jintao to DPRK's top leader Kim Jong Il for the efforts of the leaders and people of DPRK to ensure the smooth and successful completion of the Olympic torch relay in Pyongyang.
