Beijing Olympic flame leaves Hainan for Guangdong Province

    HAIKOU, May 6 (Xinhua) -- The chartered plane carrying the Beijing Olympic flame left Haikou for Guangdong Province at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesady.

    During the three-day torch relay in Hainan Province, which covered Sanya, Wuzhishan, Wanning, Qionghai and the capital city of Haikou, the Olypmic torch relay received warm welcome and strong support everywhere from the local people.

    In all, 624 torchbearers from all walks of life ran through the 91.63km route, which lasted more than 16 hours.

    The Olympic torch relay will kick off in Guangzhou on Wednesday. The relay route covers 43 km through the city.
