SHANGHAI, May 9 (Xinhua) -- Barbadian Prime Minister David Thompson left Shanghai for London Friday morning, wrapping up his five-day official visit to China.
Thompson started his visit from Beijing on May 5 as a guest of Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao.
During his stay in Beijing, he met with Wu Bangguo, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and held talks with Premier Wen.
Besides Beijing, Thompson visited China's financial hub of Shanghai from May 7 to 9. While in Shanghai, he met with Shanghai Mayor Han Zheng and visited the Oriental Pearl TV Tower as well as Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall.
This was Thompson's first official visit to China since he took office in January 2008.
