14 dead in road accident in NW Pakistan

    ISLAMABAD, May 9 (Xinhua) -- At least 14 people have been killed and more than 15 others injured when a trailer overturned in Pakistan's North West Frontier Province (NWFP) on Friday.

    The trailer was on its way to Rawalpindi from Peshawar, capital city of NWFP, when the driver lost control over the vehicle, local TV channel Geo reported.

    The trailer overturned at GT Road in Pabbi area of Nowshera in NWFP when the driver tried to save a woman, according to Geo.

    As a result, at least 14 people were killed and more than 15 injured. Police and rescue teams have rushed to the site and carried out rescue operations.

    Police said a car was trapped under the trailer. Several people were still trapped under it.
