KATHMANDU, May 12 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Zheng Xianglin said Monday that China supports Nepali government no matter who leads it.

    In response to a question about what kind of government China would like to see in Nepal, Zheng said, "No matter who forms next government, China will support Nepalese government."

    "During my stay in Nepal since last year, I have witnessed many changes, including the successful elections of the Constitution Assembly (CA) which was supported by international community. Chinese government and the people are very happy about the success of the elections," he said.

    "We respect the choice Nepalese have made during the CA assembly," said Ambassador Zheng, adding that political parties should work in collaboration to fulfill the will of the people.

    The ambassador also thanked all the Nepalese who supported the relay of the Olympic torch.

    "We are proud that China had succeeded to write a new history by taking the Olympic torch to the top of Mt. Qomolangma for the first time," said Zheng, adding that the Beijing Olympic games will spread the message of peace, solidarity and happiness throughout the world.
