Israeli strikes on northern and southern Gaza Strip kill four

    GAZA, May 14 (Xinhua) -- Four Palestinians, of them two militants and two civilians were killed and nine wounded in a series of Israeli army strikes and incursion into southern and northern Gaza Strip on Wednesday morning, medics and witnesses said.

    Mo'aweya Hassanein, chief of emergency in the Palestinian health ministry said that a Palestinian was killed in a fresh Israeli airstrike on an area northeast of Jabalia town in northern Gaza Strip, moments after Israeli attacks left three dead.

    Earlier, witnesses said that several Israeli army tanks and bulldozers backed by aircrafts stormed an area east of the village of Abbassan east of Khan Younis in southern Gaza Strip amid intensive gunfire, killing two militants and wounding seven others.

    The two militants were from Al-Qassam Brigades, Islamic Hamas movement's armed wing and Al-Quds Brigades, Islamic Jihad (Holy War) armed wing. A third Palestinian was shot dead and two others wounded by Israeli soldiers' gunfire northeast of Jabalia town.

    Several Israeli army tanks and bulldozers stormed the area early on Wednesday.
