LOS ANGELES, May 18 (Xinhua) -- A man opened fire at a church festival
Saturday in California, wounding his ex-wife and two others nearby, police said.
The man shot with a 22-caliber rifle a few minutes before an annual weekend
festival was to begin on a grassy field at the St. John Baptist de la Salle
Roman Catholic parish, police said.
The man, whose identity was not released, was grabbed by festival goers and
was then handed over to police.
It is an isolated incident, police Capt. Steven Ruiz said, adding that the
man has had an ongoing dispute with his ex-wife who was hospitalized in stable
condition.
The other injured were a 45-year-old man who was in critical condition with
chest injuries and 47-year-old man who was in stable condition with a leg wound,
Ruiz said.
