    RAMALLAH, May 19 (Xinhua) -- Israeli forces arrested 25 Palestinians in West Bank cities, Palestinian security sources said on Monday.

    The Palestinian sources said that the 25 were arrested in several raids carried out by the Israeli troops in the cities of Ramallah, Jenin, Qalqilya and a village near Nablus.

    The detention raids took place at Sunday night and in early Monday morning, the Palestinian sources added.

    Israel's radio confirmed the reports, saying the detainees were wanted by the army for being involved in planning or taking part in attacks against Israeli targets.

    Israel carries out almost daily raids in the occupied West Bank.
