France eyes women's sabre gold in Beijing Olympic Games

    TIANJIN, North China, June 1 (Xinhua) -- French women's sabre team is striving for the gold medal of Beijing Olympic Games, said P. Guichot, head coach of the French team during the FIE Women's Sabre World Cup Grand Prix here on Sunday.

    "For us, the teams such as China, the United States and Russia will be the contender for the gold medal in the Beijing Olympic Games. We will try our best. I hope we can win," said Guichot.

    Guichot said that the French team are now preparing very actively for the Beijing Olympic Games. They will go to Las Vegas late this month, and go to Ukrane for the European Championship in July.

    The FIE Women's Sabre World Cup Grand Prix, organized by the Tianjin Sports Bureau and the Chinese Fencing Association, opened on May 30 and concluded oo June 1.
