GAZA, June 4 (Xinhua) -- Deposed Prime Minister of the government ruled by Islamic Hamas movement in Gaza Ismail Haneya is to expand his small cabinet with six more ministers, well-informed sources Gaza said Wednesday.

The sources closed to Haneya told a pro-Hamas website that the prime minister made the decision during a meeting of his minimized cabinet held in Gaza on Tuesday.

After Hamas movement took control of the Gaza Strip by force one year ago, President Mahmoud Abbas sacked Haneya and his national unity government formed after both had reached an agreement in Mekka in February last year.

The sources said Haneya would add six more portfolios to his seven-member cabinet, adding that Said Seyam, former interior minister in Hamas government, will be the interior minister.

The sources said Haneya would also add ministers in charge of transportation, Islamic Waqf (properties), social welfare, education and Justice.

Fatah movement in the West Bank slammed Haneya's decision. The movement said in a statement sent to reporters that it "is devoting the status of division among the Palestinians."

The Palestinians have two separate governments, one nominated by President Mahmoud Abbas and headed by Sallam Fayyad in the West Bank, and one deposed, but still run by Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
