BEIJING, June 6 -- Lily Allen and the Spice Girls
were among the winners at last night's Glamour Women of the Year Awards.
Lily
- who dyed her hair a shocking bright pink for the occasion - received the
Editor's Special Award in recognition of her career as a singer, TV presenter
and style queen.
Introducing Lily at the event in London's Berkeley
Square Gardens, Glamour magazine editor Jo Elvin said: "With reams of column
inches to match her considerable talents, no Women of the Year line-up could be
complete without the one and only Lily Allen."
As well as debuting her new hair colour at the event,
Lily shocked onlookers by wearing a pale pink dress decorated with 'Bambis', the
baby deer immortalised in the Disney film of the same name, with their throats
slit.
Commenting on her new hair colour, Lily said: "I did
it myself in the bathroom. I'm happy with it."
Lily celebrated her win with numerous drinks, and was
seen later in the evening being propped up by her music producer friend Mark
Ronson. The worse-for-wear star eventually had to be carried out.
The Spice Girls were named Band of the Year after
their triumphant comeback world tour earlier this year.
Geri, Emma Bunton and Mel B were all present to
collect their accolade.
Other winners included Kate Beckinsale who was named
Actress of the Year and Kate Moss who won Entrepreneur of the Year for her
Topshop fashion range.
Ronson was the lone male winner - he picked up the
coveted Man of the Year award, and attended the event with his model girlfriend
Daisy Lowe.
The awards are voted for by the readers of Britain's
Glamour magazine.
