BEIJING, June 6 (Xinhuanet) -- Presumptive Democratic
presidential nominee Senator Barack Obama met with former rival Senator Hillary
Clinton at her home in Washington on Thursday, according to media reports
Friday.
The reports said it was "a small meeting" with
perhaps just the two senators and a few aides in attendance.
There is intense speculation Obama might pick Clinton
as his running mate for November's presidential election against Republican John
McCain
Obama said before that it's not in his best interest
-- or in the interest of Clinton -- to make a hasty decision about whom his
running mate will be.

In an email letter sent to her
supporters, Clinton confirmed news reports that she will end her
presidential bid and endorse Obama on Saturday.
However there is no official announcement about
whether it will be a unconditional quitting or just a suspension of her
campaign.
Obama became the first African-American to be a major
party's presidential nominee as the Democrat Party wrapped up this year's
nomination primaries Tuesday.
He has passed the threshold of 2,118 delegates needed
to secure the nomination, after six months of fierce competition
with Hillary Clinton.
The meeting with Obama was initiated by Clinton after
a daylong series of talks between their aides.
WASHINGTON, June 4 (Xinhua) -- After seizing the Democratic presidential
nomination, Senator Barack Obama's next move is to choose a running mate.
The big guess for the moment is whether he and his rival
Senator Hillary Clinton will finally settle on the same ticket, despite the fact
that the former first lady has not yet conceded her race. Full Story
