CAIRO, June 7 (Xinhua) -- Egyptian Wushu Association Chairman Samir Fouad
on Saturday hailed the good cooperation between Egypt and China in sports.
Fouad made the remarks during his address to a Wushu performance organized
by his association and the Chinese embassy in Cairo on Saturday night to welcome
the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
He noted that there are already four Egyptians qualified for the Beijing
Wushu competitions and Egyptian players have won medals in every World Wushu
Championships.
Chinese Ambassador to Egypt Wu Chunhua introduced China's ongoing
preparations for the upcoming Beijing Olympic Games, expressing his gladness to
see so many Egyptian fans of Chinese Wushu.
"I hope that more Egyptian friends will know China and Chinese culture via
Wushu, which will become a bridge to boost the Sino-Egyptian friendship," said
Wu.
Before the performance, the participants mourned the victims in the deadly
earthquake in southwest China's Sichuan province on May 12.
