Hu says China ready to expand cooperation with Thailand

    BEIJING, July 1 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao said on Tuesday that China was ready to work with Thailand to expand and deepen strategic cooperation.

    Hu told Thai Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej during their meeting that China values relations with Thailand and unswervingly seeks to push forward China-Thailand friendship and cooperation. Full story

Chinese, Thai militaries vow to further co-op

    BEIJING, July 1 (Xinhua) -- China and Thailand pledged to increase exchanges between the two militaries in a meeting of Chinese Defense Minister Liang Guanglie and Thai Prime Minister Samak Sundaravej on Tuesday.

    Liang, also a state councilor, said the two armed forces had maintained frequent high-level exchanges, and the defense and security consultation mechanism had been improved in recent years. Full story
