Special report: Tension escalates in Iraq

    BAGHDAD, July 6 (Xinhua) -- One U.S. soldier has died of non-battle related cause in Baghdad, the U.S. military said on Sunday.

    The incident took place on Saturday, a military statement said without providing further details.

    An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the incident, the statement said.

    The latest death brings the number of U.S. troops killed in Iraq since the March 2003 invasion to about 4,113, according to media count based on Pentagon figures.
