ANKARA, July 9 (Xinhua) -- Two policemen were killed when gunmen opened fire from a vehicle outside the U.S. consulate in Istanbul on Wednesday morning, local NTV reported.

    Several people were wounded in the armed attack outside the U.S. consulate in the Turkish largest city of Istanbul, according to NTV, which said earlier that four were killed in the shootout, among them one policeman and three attackers.

    Istinye State Hospital confirmed the deaths of the two Turkish policemen, added the report.
