KIEV, July 11 (Xinhua) -- Two people were killed and eight others wounded on Friday in a gas explosion at a hospital in western Ukraine, an official said.
The blast took place in the afternoon in the Bolekhiv central hospital in Ivano-Frankivsk region, said Ihor Krol, spokesman for the Ukrainian Emergency Situations Ministry.
The blast caused a collapse of the hospital's ceiling between the basement and the flat.
According to the Interfax-Ukraine news agency, among the injured, three were medics.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
