SOFIA, July 23 (Xinhua) -- The opposition political forces in Bulgaria filed Wednesday the sixth non-confidence vote against the three-way ruling coalition over its failure in adhering to the rules of the European Union and in the absorption of EU funds.

    The motion is backed by 86 signatures of MPs of Democrats for Strong Bulgaria (DSB), United Democratic Forces (UDF), Bulgarian New Democracy (BND), Ataka, Bulgarian Popular Union and independent MPs.

    This is the sixth non-confidence vote that the government faces since the beginning of its ruling. The most recent one over the corruption in the government was put to the vote in April and failed.

    One of the main motives behind the motion involves incurring of material and moral damage to Bulgaria and its citizens due to failure to absorb EU funding.

    According to BND Chairman Stefan Sofiyanski, the unique about the current vote is that it expresses the shared opinion of the opposition, the position of the EU and the attitudes in the country entailing that the "institutions in Bulgaria -- the president's office and the government -- are discredited."

    Ataka's President Pavel Shopov reconfirmed the party's position that the opposition MPs should walk out of parliament, if the motion is rejected.

    Vesselin Metodiev, chairman of DSB, voiced hope that, if the opposition MPs walk out of Parliament they will enlist citizens' support.

    Ivan Kolchakov from UDF said that the walkout of the National Assembly should be culmination of the opposition's common political actions to provoke early elections.

    According to Parliament's Rules of Procedure, the debate on the motion should be scheduled within seven days of filing the motion.
