Special report: 2008 Olympic Games

BEIJING, August 1 (Xinhua) -- A top Greek butterflyer Ioannis Drymonakos, who was tested positive for a banned substance, will not come to the Beijing Games, the Greek swimming head coach Christodoulos Choumas confirmed on Friday.

Drymonakos, the 200 meters butterfly gold medalist at the European Championship in March, was tested positive in anabolic steriod methyltrienolone, a banned substance, the Greek Swimming Federation announced in May.

Choumas said eight swimmers, among a total of 18 coming to Beijing, has arrived in the city for pre-Games training. Five others are training in Seoul, and the rest are yet to depart from Greece, he added.

Aristeidis Grigoriadis, who won the gold in 50 meters backstroke and the silver in 100 meters backstroke in the European Championships this March, was among those who arrived.
