PYONGYANG, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- Synchronized swimmers qualified for the Beijing Olympics from the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) are in high level of the performance, said an official of the DPRK swimming association on Saturday.
The two DPRK swimmers were in full confidence to take part in the match, An So Dan, secretary-general of the DPRK Swimming Association, told Choson Sinbo, a newspaper run by ethnic Koreans in Japan, adding that they will "show their strength" at Beijing.
Synchronized swimming of the DPRK made progress in recent years. They had gained good results in international arenas.
Wang Ok Gyong and Kim Yong Mi, who have much international experiences, will be teamed to compete in the synchronized swimming at Beijing Olympics. "I don't feel nervous, although it is my debut at Olympics," Wang Ok Gyong said, "I will fully display my strength when compete with world class players."
They chose national music as their accompaniment and intensely exercised movements of high-difficulty, their coach Ru Jong Ae said. Their performance had reached a new level, she added.
