Angola canoeing athlete pledges to win honor in Olympics

    LUANDA, Aug. 4 (Xinhua) -- Angola's canoeing athlete Fortuna to Domingos said here on Monday he will strive to be among the best competitors at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games slated from Aug. 8 to24.

    Before departing for Beijing at the Luanda international airport, Domingos said he will do his utmost to win honor for his country through canoeing competition at the Beijing Olympics.

    "I will try to compete with the opponents to win honor for Angola," he said, adding the strongest opponents will be those from Hungary and Romania.

    Domingos was qualified for the Beijing Games after he won a silver medal at the African championship held in Kenya in January this year.
