BEIJING, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) -- Belgium wants that half of its athletes could advance to top eight at the Beijing Olympics, Philippe Rogge, Chef de Mission of Belgium said on Wednesday

"Belgium isn't a big country in the area of sports. In Athens, we only got three medals. So this time, we don't have any plan for medals, but we want half of our athletes could enter into top eight," he told Xinhua after the welcome ceremony in the Olympic Village.

According to him, Belgium sends 96 athletes to the Beijing Olympics and is capable to win medals in sailing, judo, cycling and athletics.

He also praised the facilities in the Village. "It's perfect here in the Village. People are warm-hearted, buildings are splendid. Everything is fine," he said.

Rogge visited Beijing several months ago. He feels Beijing has much changed since then.

"After several months, there are more green, less dust, less construction sites," he added. Enditem
