SEOUL, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- South Korea and France will hold talks on
Wednesday to seek cooperation in defense industry, South Korea Defense Ministry
said Monday.
According to South Korea's Defense Acquisition Program Administration
(DAPA), Kim Jong-min, South Korea's deputy chief of DAPA, and Jacques De
Lajugie, director of international development at France's General Delegation
for Ordnance, known as DGA, will hold talks in Paris.
"During his visit to France, Kim will also call on the head of DGA to
discuss ways to improve the countries' cooperative relationship and to request
the simplification of France's export authorization process, which will allow
the export of our defense goods made with French technology to third parties,"
DAPA said in a press release.
South Korea is currently developing a new utility helicopter with the
support of France's EuroCopter and hopes to export some 300 units of the new
helicopter between 2015 and 2025, South Korea' s Yonhap News Agency said.
