Angolan sports official leaves for Beijing Paralympics

    LUANDA, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- Angolan Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Albino da Conceicao left here on Monday to attend the Beijing Paralympic Games.

    Angola Paralympics Committee's national assembly chairperson as well as its director Fatima Jardim and Leonel da Rocha Pinto will also travel to Beijing.

    For the fourth participation in the Olympic Games after Atlanta 1996, Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004, Angola is present at this edition with a team made up of Jose Sayovo and Octavio dos Santos, competing in 100m, 200s and 400m races for visually disabled people (classt11), Francisco Manuel, 100m, 200m races and long jump.

    The Angolan team, led by coach Jose Manuel, also fields Joaquim Manuel to compete in 100m and 20m races for t12 class (partial blindness), Evalina Alexandre, 100m, 200m and 400m races, and Domingos Sebastiao, Class t46 to play in 100m and 200m races.
