SARAJEVO, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) -- Macedonian is going to liberalize visa control for all the countries that are included in the so-called EU's "white list", news reaching here from Skopje reported.
And the countries which are not on the list but whose citizens have valid passports and Schengen visas will enjoy the same treatment, Ivica Bocevski, Macedonia's vice prime minister in charge of European issues, said on Thursday.
Bocevski said the EU's "white list" includes 20 countries, mainly from south America and several developed Asian countries including Malaysia, Singapore and South Korea.
"The purpose of this decision is to make it easier and faster for people from these countries to enter Macedonia and to facilitate the establishment of business, cultural, and educational ties and cooperation," Bocevski said.
The decision is expected to enter into force within several weeks after technical preparations for the move have been completed by the country's foreign ministry and interior ministry, it was reported.
Macedonia has already scrapped visa requirements for EU countries.
