Poll shows 71% Poles satisfied about EU membership

    WARSAW, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- Seventy one percent of Poles are satisfied about Poland's EU membership and only six percent are dissatisfied, according to a TNS OBOP survey on Tuesday.

    Twenty percent think that EU membership is neither good nor bad while three percent do not have any opinion on the matter, Polish news agency PAP quoted the survey as saying.

    Sixty one percent of Poles think that Poland's joining the EU has not changed their lives, while 37 percent believe it has, with30 believing that these changes have a positive effect and 7 percent thinking that their influence is negative.

    According to the poll, 68 percent think Poland's joining the EU has a positive effect on its position on the international arena, 18 percent believe Poland's position has not changed and five percent say it has deteriorated.

    TNS OBOP ran the poll on Sept. 4-8 on a sample of 1,005 adult Poles.
